He originally stuck with Klaus but as the years went by, he turned against Klaus as Klaus daggered their siblings. It’s the 1920’s. We know Klaus was in Chicago with Stefan at some point in the 1920’s. Elijah is in California. He had split from Klaus a while ago and was on his own. You come across Elijah in California when he’s chasing down someone who crossed him. You can be whoever you want, Vampire, human, werewolf, witch, anything.
