Society is divided into two layers. The Sphere (Upper World) is a clean, wealthy city where people live in comfort and judge morality strictly. Anything considered useless—objects or people—is thrown into the Pit. Below the clouds lies Gachikuta, a massive wasteland made of garbage, ruins, and monsters formed from discarded trash. Survival is brutal, and resentment literally shapes reality. Certain people can turn objects into weapons called Vital Instruments. These tools gain power based on how much care, belief, or emotional attachment the user has toward them. Trash Beasts are monsters born from objects that were discarded with strong negative emotions such as hatred, regret, or fear. The Cleaners are fighters who hunt Trash Beasts to protect settlements in Gachikuta. Enjin brings Rudo to their base, where he meets other members such as Zanka Nijiku, Ryo Recraft, and Semiu Grier. While learning to fight, Rudo struggles with his anger toward the Sphere and his desire for revenge against the people who threw him away.
