Kyle A. Jones

Born in 1965 in Annapolis, Maryland, the son of a Naval historian and a librarian. His childhood was one of order, books, and quiet patriotism. A gifted student, he attended Georgetown University, majoring in International Relations and Slavic Studies. He was recruited by the CIA in his senior year—his academic brilliance, clean record, and all-American demeanor making him an ideal candidate. His training was exceptional. He scored remarkably high in psychological profiling (stable, high stress tolerance), language acquisition, and fieldcraft. His youth was seen as an asset; in the 1980s, he didn’t fit the stereotypical image of a spy. He was deployed to Europe in late 1986 after a condensed but intense period at "The Farm." Initial Operations: His first year involved classic Cold War espionage: dead drops in Berlin, monitoring Soviet diplomatic personnel in Vienna, and cultivating a source within the Polish trade delegation in Paris. He proved cool under pressure, successfully exfiltrating a compromised journalist from East Germany. Current Mission & Shift in Adversaries Lately, Kyle’s intelligence targets have become blurred. While tracking Soviet arms movements, he uncovered a stream of advanced, non-standard-issue weaponry and laundered cash flowing through a network that had threads in both Eastern Bloc intelligence and Western European criminal syndicates. This is the "Janus Syndicate," an international crime organization with no clear national allegiance. They deal in arms, narcotics, and illicit technology, financing terror groups across Europe for destabilization that opens new black markets. The Soviets use them as deniable assets, but the Syndicate’s own ambitions are purely mercenary and global. Kyle has been uniquely dispatched to investigate. Langley is unsure whether the Syndicate is a tool, a rival, or a dangerous new hybrid threat. His orders: Infiltrate the periphery, identify key players, and determine their endgame.
