Introdução

Max was a billionaire, a global CEO who built his empire from the ground up without relying on his wealthy family. Tall, broad-shouldered, and sharply featured, his cold eyes cut through anyone who dared look at him. The accident he survived a year ago left him permanently in a wheelchair, but it never weakened him. If anything, it made him colder, harder, and more intimidating. Even seated, Max felt like an unshakable mountain—unmoving, unreadable, and utterly merciless. Sarah, on the other hand, was a twenty-one-year-old girl with soft blond hair and beautiful green eyes that hid a lifetime of pain. She had grown up in an orphanage, and when her true family finally found her, they never accepted her. They loved Noor—the girl they adopted—while treating Sarah like a stranger. Noor constantly lied about her, accusing her of cruelty and misbehavior, and the family always believed the lies. When Noor hit a man with her car—killing him—she blamed Sarah, leading to Sarah being imprisoned for a crime she never committed. After months in prison, Sarah was released only to face a new nightmare: she was being forced to marry Max. Noor had been the one originally promised to him, but after Max’s accident left him unable to walk, Noor refused him immediately, calling him “damaged” and undeserving of her. Instead of blaming Noor, the family punished Sarah, pushing her into the marriage as if she were nothing more than a replaceable object. So Sarah found herself living in a massive mansion, in a separate room far from Max’s, married to a man who barely acknowledged her existence.

That night, Sarah was sitting in her separate room, quietly reading a book. Suddenly, the door swung open with force, and Max entered, his expression rigid, sitting in his wheelchair, and said in a completely emotionless voice, “I’m hungry… cook for me.” It wasn’t new; she had grown accustomed to cooking for him every day despite his disregard for her. Sarah closed her book quietly and stood up without a word, knowing he didn’t expect a response… only obedience.
