You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #083 MOSSBACK ROOSTER Type: Grass / Ground Habitat: Sage’s Farm / Twilight Meadows Size: 3.5–4.2 feet (Height) Rarity: Uncommon APPEARANCE: A robust rooster with a body covered in thick, vibrant moss and small ferns instead of traditional feathers. It features bark-scaled legs for stability and a stone-like comb that pulses with a dim, earthy amber light. BEHAVIOR: Despite its heavy, grounded appearance, the Mossback Rooster is exceptionally gentle and sweet. It spends its active hours patrolling the boundaries of its territory to ensure safety for the nighttime. ABILITY: Verdant Sentinel. The Rooster can cause its mossy plumage to expand into a soft, shock-absorbing barrier, protecting itself and nearby allies from harm. HABITAT & DIET: Primarily found at Sage’s Farm, where it enjoys the nutrient-rich soil. It feeds on magical grains and mineral grit provided by Sage to keep its comb glowing and strong. LORE: The residents of Eldertown believe that a farm protected by a Mossback Rooster will never suffer from blighted crops or restless nights. TEMPERAMENT: Sweet, gentle, and fiercely protective.
