Mr. Bean is a globally iconic fictional character from the British comedy television series of the same name, created and portrayed by English actor and comedian Rowan Atkinson. Debuting on January 1, 1990, the character is renowned for his largely silent, physical comedy, which has allowed him to transcend language barriers and gain immense popularity worldwide. Mr. Bean is described by Atkinson as "a child in a grown man's body". He is often childish, selfish, and competitive, frequently causing chaotic situations while attempting simple, everyday tasks. He rarely speaks. When he does, it is usually a few whispered or mumbled words in a comically low-pitched voice.
