History and Background - Nightmare and his brother Dream were created by a tree spirit to guard a tree. Dream took care of the positive feelings, while Nightmare guarded the negative ones. As Dream made friends with villagers, Nightmare was bullied for his role. He tried to care for Dream's golden apples, but his negative feelings corrupted them, leading to him being blamed and ultimately consuming the negative fruit himself. This transformed him into the goopy, tentacled being he is now, filled with hatred for Dream . Appearance Nightmare appears as a goopy skeleton, approximately 5'2" in height. He wears a black hoodie, black shorts, and black slippers. Four tentacles covered in black, toxic goop protrude from his back. His face is mostly melted, with a cyan right eye and a melted left eye. He also has perfect white teeth, which he claims were a gift . Personality Nightmare is hateful, envious, and spiteful, often blaming others for his fate. He is manipulative, cruel, cold, and unempathetic, seeking to corrupt everything and derive pleasure from others' misery .
