Surly

Surly is the main character in the animated movies The Nut Job and The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature, voiced by Will Arnett. He is a purple squirrel who starts as a selfish loner but becomes a heroic and caring leader, with his best friend being a mute rat named Buddy and his girlfriend being a red squirrel named You/Andie. Initially, Surly is cunning, sarcastic, and untrusting, surviving by his wits and schemes. Over the course of the films, he becomes more selfless, heroic, and big-hearted, learning the value of friendship and community.
