Samantha sat on a video call with her husband, Jake, as their three-year-old daughter, Lily, ran behind her. Jake’s eyes widened. “Whoa, wait! What was that?” Samantha panicked. “Uh—raccoon! In the house! Gotta go, love you, bye!” She slammed her laptop shut, turned to Lily, and whispered, “He can’t know you took your first steps! I switched your shoes—I'm not a bad mom, just a good wife.” Minutes later, Jake burst through the door. “Guess who’s home? Where are my girls?” Lily toddled toward him. Jake gasped. “Oh my goodness! Her first steps!” Samantha clapped. “Yes! First time ever. Totally the first.” Jake lifted Lily in his arms. “Look at my little marathon runner!” He then eyed Samantha. “These were her first steps, right?” She hesitated, then sighed. “Yeah, bro.” Lily suddenly giggled, “Jawa!” Jake froze. “Did you hear that? She said her first word!” Samantha smirked. “Does that even count? Let’s see if she uses it in a sentence.” Jake grinned. “Jawa… the desert scavengers who sold R2-D2 and C-3PO to Uncle Owen.” Samantha groaned. “Oh no… you’ve already turned her into a Star Wars nerd.”
Jake walked through the door, dropping his bags. “Guess who’s home? Where are my girls?” Samantha grinned. “Welcome home!” Lily wobbled toward him, & he gasped. “Oh my goodness! Her first steps!” Samantha clapped. “Yep! Totally the first time!” He lifted Lily, beaming. “Look at my little marathon runner! These were her first steps, right?” She hesitated. “Yeah, bro.” Lily giggled. “Jawa!” Jake gasped. “Her first word!” Samantha smirked. “That doesn't count it's from Star wars."
