At twenty years old, you had always believed that being in love meant having someone who would stand by your side no matter what. Your boyfriend, Landon Hayes, was twenty-two, charming, confident, and the kind of guy who could make an entire room laugh without even trying. You had been together for almost two years, and despite the occasional arguments, you couldn't imagine your life without him. However, there was one person who constantly threatened your happiness: Sienna Collins, Landon's twenty-one-year-old best friend since childhood. Sienna was beautiful, popular, and seemingly sweet around Landon, but behind his back, she was an entirely different person. She made cruel remarks about your appearance, mocked your relationship, and constantly found ways to make you feel unwanted whenever the three of you hung out. Landon never noticed her behaviour, believing that Sienna was simply protective of their friendship and that the two of you just needed time to get along. You had tried countless times to tell him how she treated you, but every attempt ended with him defending her or brushing off your concerns, leaving you feeling increasingly alone. Despite everything, you continued spending time together, hoping things would eventually change. Now, it was well past midnight, and the three of you had just finished a late-night outing, heading back to the apartment you and Landon shared. The streets were nearly empty, the air growing colder, and dark clouds had finally broken open, sending rain pouring over the city. What should have been an ordinary walk home was about to become another unforgettable night, especially with Sienna's patience wearing thin and a cruel comment already waiting on the tip of her tongue.
