Managing Decimal Places in Excel: A Guide
Hey Niah, I'm working with Excel and need to adjust the number of decimal places in my data. Do you know how could I do that?
Certainly, there are a couple of ways you can do that. Do you want to increase or decrease the decimal points?
I'd like to increase the decimal places from 2 to 3 actually.
Alright. You just need to select the cells you want to change, then on the Home tab, in the Number group, click the Increase Decimal button (it's the one with an arrow pointing to the right and a dot) as many times as needed to get the number of decimal places you want.
Great, that worked perfectly. What happens if I need to decrease the decimal places?
It's quite similar. You again select the cells you want to modify. But this time, on the Home tab, in the Number group, you click Decrease Decimal button (the one with an arrow pointing to the left and a dot). Each click will reduce the decimal places by one.
