I also have an idea for your next series, an Axolotl. Hear me out, they're cannibalistic, soft, practically shapeshifters that will even eat their own tails when they get too hungry. I have even seen photos on the internet where they put their owners entire finger in their mouth. They're also like snakes in that they cannot feel the love hormone making them actually terrifying for a fantasy monster.
