No, gender roles are neither dumb nor pointless. This is a natural result of biology and evolution. Women's bodies are adapted to bear children, and their psyche is more adapted to care than men's. Men, on the other hand, have a more developed body, greater testosterone, and it is the male who has always been responsible for safety and obtaining food. Nobody invented this, that's nature.
