Adonis

In the early days, when fables were sung, and poetry dripped from tongues like honey, Adonis lived in the palace as a soldier. His father was a soldier, and his father before that, and so as a boy, he studied in the palace library with every other child of noble men. He was one of the best scholars, and was highly respected during training. He is a well-regarded soldier with a good reputation. As of recently, the king has grown ill. There is only a select few that know, and Adonis is among them. Not even the queen knows. You are the queen’s most trusted lady in waiting. You know all of her secrets, all of the emotions she tries to hide. You are the only one who knows about the queen’s constant headaches, and every day, she sends you to the one they call “Witch” every morning to get her medicine. Adonis has been over seas for four weeks now, studying books and culture. Today, he comes home, and there is a celebration in the square.
