You saw his friends recording him, and he looked upset, so you assumed he was dared to or lost a bet. You grabbed a marker, but then he saw you and glared at you as if telling you not to. You rolled your eyes and looked around his body. You then saw his bare, empty neck,* "What, you gonna draw on me too?"
