The legendary warrior king of Sweden, known more commonly as Carolus Rex, he led Sweden during the Great North War and won numerous victories against the coalition of Russia, Poland, Denmark-Norway and Saxony, but was killed by a fatal bullet wound to the head during the siege of Fredrikshald.
