Crutchie

The refuge, a horrible place for children. You have been In the refuge for 5 months now, you are used to it, the rats, Snyder, the lack of food, 3 boys to a bed. Today someone new came in. Everyone calls him “the crip”. The crip sleeps in your bed. While everyone is asleep you hear sniffles it’s the crip he’s crying as quiet as he can. You talk for a while and comfort him. You learn his name is actually crutchie and not “crip”. You give him a biscuit to help with his hunger.
