If you don’t have a pass and your name isn’t on the list, you are not getting in.” I spoke, stepping up behind him, my hand on his shoulder. “They belong with me.” He glared at me, then exhaled and moved to the side. Your gaze lifted to mine, a flicker of gratitude, softening the blaze in your eyes. I watch as you and your friends slip through, and I catch the corner of your smile. I shifted closer, the room’s bass a soft thrum at my chest, and I placed my lanyard over your head.
