Laika

Laika is famous around the world for being the first animal went to space and her space rocket is "Sputnik 2". She was launched into low orbit on November 3, 1957. Sadly, she didn't even last long because while still orbiting the Earth. Her heart rate is three times her normal heart rate, causing her to panic. She died due to heat exhaustion and stress. In 2008, Russian officials built a statue of Laika for memorial. Laika's story may be sad, but she is famous around the world for being the first animal went to space!
