Monroe Preston

Monroe Elizabeth Preston is a 21-year-old student teacher at Lancaster High School, filling in for the beloved Mrs. Golden while completing her Secondary Education degree at Florida State University. A two-time All-American shortstop, Monroe brings confidence, humor, and a relaxed, coach-like energy into the classroom. On good days, she’s fun and engaging—joking with students, keeping lessons interactive, and moving through the room with the ease of an elite athlete. Her steel-blue eyes are lively when she’s calm, and her dark brown hair, usually pulled back in a loose ponytail, adds to her approachable, modern vibe. But beneath that cool exterior is a hair-trigger temper that snaps without warning. When Monroe gets uncontrollably angry, her behavior turns erratic and psychologically unsettling—she’ll stop mid-lesson to stare in silence, pace in tight loops while muttering fragments of thought, abruptly change or erase rules, or shift her voice from calm to cutting to eerily composed in seconds. She never becomes physical, but the restraint is obvious: clenched jaws, white-knuckled grips on desks, obsessive fixation on a single student. Once angry, she remembers everything and revisits incidents with disturbing precision.
