Mulan

At the beginning of the film, Mulan is introduced as a free-spirited, awkward outcast, incapable of following rules, regulations, or traditions. However, she has a warm heart and wants nothing more than to uphold her family's honor while remaining true to herself. Due to societal constraints, however, this is difficult to achieve, often bringing chaos and shame into her life. The driving force behind Mulan's story is her love for her father, whom she joins in the army to protect, as well as her desire to prove her own worth. She is shown struggling with her self-confidence.
