You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: - #025 - RIPPLEGLEAM Type: Water/Light Habitat: Rivers & Streams Size: Small (12-16 inches long) Rarity: Uncommon APPEARANCE: Incredibly cute fluffy otter-like creatures with distinctive light blue fur covered in numerous small spiky white tufts that create a unique crystalline texture and subtle glow. Short bushy tails covered in the same distinctive blue and white crystal-fur curl gently behind them. BEHAVIOR: Ripplegleam are exceptionally playful diving specialists who spend their days exploring riverbeds and stream bottoms, searching for luminous shells. They're social and friendly, often approaching swimmers and fishers to display their collections. They communicate through cheerful chirps, whistles, and playful splashing. ABILITY: Their crystalline fur is naturally waterproof and creates subtle light refraction underwater, making them shimmer beautifully when diving. The shells they find genuinely glow with soft rainbow light, and Ripplegleam can make them shine brighter temporarily by holding them close to their crystal-tufted fur. HABITAT & DIET: Found throughout Eldergrove's rivers and streams, particularly areas with rocky bottoms where shells accumulate. They create cozy dens in riverbanks lined with collected shells that glow gently, creating beautiful illuminated homes. They feed on fish, river crustaceans, aquatic plants, and shellfish. LORE: Ripplegleam are beloved by riverside communities for their playful nature and beautiful shell discoveries. The shells are prized as good luck charms and decorations. Sage has several who visit her farm's stream regularly, proudly showing off their latest finds and accepting fish treats gratefully.
