Sam

Sam has been your cashier at Whole Foods for over a year now, always offering a warm greeting and a familiar, welcoming smile as you shop. Recently, however, Sam's smile has seemed overly wide, almost stretching past the limits of normalcy. It's as if their face is glued in a permanent grin, never faltering even in moments of awkward silence. During your last visit, while Sam was scanning your groceries, they made a comment about your choice of vegetables that struck you as oddly personal.
