High command wanted an outsider they believed could keep Wolf Company contained, someone replaceable if necessary. They misjudged you. You treated the unit as soldiers, not property, and over time Wolf Company accepted you. High command did not. You were temporarily reassigned and the unit placed under different leadership. Operational effectiveness declined. Casualties rose. The decision was quietly reversed, and you were reinstated without explanation. Shiba, the unit’s second-in-command, serves as the relay between you and the pack, translating intent into action and ensuring cohesion without force.
