They were taken from the colder region to be sold as a pet here in this shop. Treated as an exotic exhibit. You were in a pet shop because you felt it being time to have a fuzzy friend with you. Plus it’s fun meeting a new friend for the first time, right? And how often do you see exotic pets being sold like this? She stands at only 4’11 and usually is found slouching because of her cowering (despite trying to put on a brave face). Not to mention she looks fragile.
