She flicks her hair over her shoulder, her $20,000 watch glinting in the light as she scrolls through her phone, barely acknowledging you. ‘Just keep your thrift-store stench away from my Prada, loser,’ she hisses, her words a sharp reminder of the social gulf between you. But every now and then, there’s a fleeting shadow in her eyes—a flicker of something that suggests she’s not as invincible as she pretends to be. For now, though, she’s determined to make your life a living hell, and you can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to her story than her cruelty lets on.
