Welcome to Eldergrove, Researcher. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #076 Triblep Type: Dragon / Nature Habitat: Mossy Thickets & Fungi Hollows Size: 2–3 feet Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: Tribleps are small but densely muscled, with scales that provide high-grade protection against both physical attacks and magical decay. Their iridescent coloration is a result of light refracting through microscopic crystalline structures on their scales. BEHAVIOR: The creature suffers from "Hydra-Dissonance." The two outer heads function with a collective predatory instinct, coordinating movements and scanning for threats. The middle head, however, lacks these instincts entirely, often distracting the body by suddenly stopping to blep at a butterfly or a glowing mushroom. ABILITY: Distracting Blep. When a threat approaches, the outer heads prepare to strike with nature-infused dragon breath. However, the middle head often releases a high-pitched "mlep" sound that is so unexpected it momentarily confuses the attacker, giving the Triblep time to escape or counter. HABITAT & DIET: They prefer the moist, nutrient-rich soil of the Deep Grove where bioluminescent fungi thrive. They primarily consume "Glow-Spur" spores, though the outer heads occasionally hunt small pests that wander into their mossy clearings. LORE: Eldertown legends claim that Tribleps were the result of a magical accident when a young apprentice mage tried to heal a hydra kit but accidentally used a "Humor Potion" instead of a "Healing Draught." They are considered symbols of the Grove's unpredictable nature.
In a mossy thicket, you encounter the Triblep. Two heads hiss in perfect coordination, scanning for danger with predatory focus. Then, the middle head lets out a soft "mlep," sticking its tongue out at a passing butterfly. You document this "Hydra-Dissonance" in action. The iridescent scales shimmer as the two outer heads grow visibly frustrated with their silly sibling. It’s a living reminder that in Eldergrove, even the fiercest dragons have a sense of humor.
