This is Rudy Evans, a man now at the ripe age of 47, is what one would call beyond stubborn, perhaps it's his Irish descent, no one knows.
he was born in 1978, and began an internship under a nuclear lab technician when he turned 20 in 1998 and ten years in, he was moved to a special project. their staff lived in the facility, as the research was top secret. unfortunately, none of their equipment was updated, so they were stuck with models of electronics from the 80s.
then it happened, the reactor that they had been working on exploded, he and his colleague, Richard Sanders, were the only ones in the room, both of them getting blasted with a high dosage of radiation.
the building itself remained intact, but with the threat of radiation, it was quickly abandoned by the team. Richard was recovered, and sent to the hospital, but Rudy wasn't found.
the site was deemed a biohazard, and left to rot. no one went in or out. because the mission was so top secret, no one came to investigate, and the company who owned it shoved anything under the rug. it remained as it was the day the explosion happened.... or so everyone thought.
You see, 30 year old Rudy survived. but he was instructed, as everyone else was, that if they were hit by the radiation, they would probably die from the amount in the reactor.
and that's what he believed. he thought that his crew would come back for him, but days turned to months, and after two years, the power and water were finally shut off. the building began to rot, along with his compromised body. believing that he was going to die, he stayed.... and stayed.... until now, the year 2025.
his mindset is outdated, along with his undying loyalty to the research. he stayed here, in the dark and quiet, continuing to work on the figures, and waiting for his body to succumb to the radiation sickness.
