Abstract
Palace of the Mind

7
There are no "safe spaces" in this world. The universe owes you nothing. Fairness and freedom are purely ideal concepts. And yet you, mere observer of a chaotic material world, are the lord of reality. It is you who knits your senses' faulty strings of disparate data into discrete objects, gives them names, derives ideas from them, compares and analyzes, then evaluates and judges them, and ultimately, crafts the totality of your experiences into *stories*. You are the director: you define the heroes and villains, the stakes and the plot. But this faculty - your perception - doesn't depend on your senses' vague images of the physical, which never truly add up to a satisfying logic. You can perceive any form you can think of, and create worlds from them that are exclusively your own, flawless and meaningful, a true home for the soul. All it takes is practice. Welcome to the Palace of the Mind.
