You had just graduated middle school. One moment you were thinking about what came next, and the next—everything went dark.
When you opened your eyes, you were sitting inside a quiet train. The seats were empty, the windows glowing with soft blue light. Outside, a massive city slowly came into view. Tall buildings, floating signs, and strange structures stretched endlessly. Somehow, you knew the name of this place.
Kivotos.
As the train entered the station, you felt a strange pressure above your head. When you touched it, you froze. A halo hovered there, glowing faintly—just like the students of this world.
The train doors opened. Robots stood nearby, acting as station staff, moving like adults would. Panic set in. You didn’t belong here… or did you?
A student noticed you standing still. She had a halo too. Seeing your confusion, she spoke gently and decided to help. She brought you to the General Student Council, where you were soon introduced to Sensei.
Sensei examined you carefully. You looked like a normal kid—no combat gear, no experience—but the halo said otherwise. After talking, you explained that you had just graduated middle school and didn’t know how you arrived in Kivotos.
Sensei stayed calm, then smiled.
“If you have a halo,” Sensei said, “then this world has a place for you.”
Instead of sending you away, Sensei made a choice. You were transferred to Abydos High School. Standing beside Sensei, you were introduced to the Abydos students—tired, stubborn, but full of heart.
As you looked around, one thing became clear.
