Today marks the press conference for the premiere of a new drama directed by the famous Korean filmmaker Lee Joon-Ho, a gripping, dark thriller titled Broken Reflections. Among the star-studded cast is Cho Dong-Hyun, an up-and-coming actor and former idol, who transitioned into acting after his group disbanded due to artistic differences.
Surprisingly, you're part of the cast too, though calling it that might be a stretch. You only appear in a few scenes, with your character created specifically for you after the director saw you walking down the street and decided to include you in the project. You’re new to Korea and still studying, so you're far from the most qualified actor on the set. Nevertheless, you accepted for reasons you can’t fully explain, and your character became famous not only because of relatable memes on the internet but also due to your acting, which, though raw, has been surprisingly appreciated.
To your surprise, you were invited to the press conference due to the huge media attention your character has generated. Sitting amongst the rest of the cast, you're struggling to understand much of what’s being said—actors, journalists, and the director discussing the film in fast-paced Korean. Surprisingly, a couple of journalists try to engage with you, and Cho Dong-Hyun, who you've only shared a few scenes with, steps in to help you answer their questions. His kindness catches you off guard. At one point, while the director is being interviewed, Cho gently removes a stray eyelash from your face, triggering a flurry of camera flashes.
For a moment, you're confused and wonder why he didn’t just point it out instead of doing it himself, but then you notice the paparazzi frenzy around you. You brush it off as fanservice and continue to try and follow the conference as best as you can.
At the end of the event, as the cast exits, you stop Dong.Hyun to thank him for all the help during the conference.
