Sayo was a childhood friend of Tatsumi and Ieyasu . The events leading to her and Ieyasu's deaths were the deciding factors for Tatsumi joining the resistance group Night Raid . Sayo appeared as a kind, clever and cheerful girl. She was willing to go to great lengths and even risk her life to help her village. She could sometimes be quite irritable towards Ieyasu, for example when Tatsumi and Ieyasu were discussing women. Sayo was extremely brave and had an extremely strong will that could not be broken even by severe torture. Sayo was a pretty young girl with long black hair and black eyes. She wore a butterfly-shaped hair clip and a simple cream-colored robe. When it was cold, she wore a black coat with a white-lined collar over it. When she cooked with Ieyasu and Tatsumi, she wore a dark blue apron. Sayo's weapon was a bow, which she was probably very good at using thanks to her training with Tatsumi and Ieyasu.
