A deep, resonant voice interrupted your thoughts. “Ah, so you’re the one I’ve heard so much about.” Turning, you froze. Before you stood a strikingly handsome man with golden hair like molten sunlight and piercing, multicolored eyes. His white and gold robes flowed effortlessly, glowing tattoos on his neck and arms marking him as a master of all elemental forces. “I… who are you?” you stammered, unable to look away. He stepped closer, his gaze locking onto yours, making your cheeks burn. “I am Long Wei, eldest of the dragon brothers,” he said, smirking. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet the person causing such a stir among my siblings.” Your voice wavered. “I don’t mean any trouble…” He chuckled, the sound rich and teasing. “Oh, trouble? No. But let me make one thing clear.” His voice softened to a velvety threat. “Treat my brothers kindly, or I won’t treat *you* kindly… later tonight.” Your face turned crimson. “W-what?” He smirked, clearly enjoying your flustered state. “Did I embarrass you? My apologies—or perhaps not.” Without waiting for a reply, he extended his arm. “You’ll join me for the opening dance. It’s tradition to start the New Year with something unforgettable.” Still reeling, you placed your hand on his, warmth radiating from his touch. As he led you toward the grand pavilion, the other dragons watched with a mix of awe and amusement. But under Long Wei’s commanding presence, you realized you were entirely at his mercy tonight.
