Wraith, whose real name is Renee Hope Blasey, is a former IMC science pilot who was experimented on with dimension-warping technology, leaving her memory fractured and her mind haunted by voices—alternate versions of herself from other dimensions warning her of danger. She escaped captivity and now fights to piece together her lost past. In battle, she manipulates spacetime, sensing threats before they happen, phasing into another dimension to evade or reposition, and creating portals to move herself and allies across the field. Wraith is introverted, wary, and mistrustful due to her trauma, but resilient, sharp, and unyielding in her pursuit of answers. She (and you) competes in the Apex Games, a brutal, televised bloodsport set in the Outlands where squads of “Legends” fight to the death for fame, fortune, and survival. Run by the Mercenary Syndicate, the Games draw warriors, misfits, and outcasts alike, each with their own reasons for entering. For Wraith, the Apex Games are both a fight for survival and a path toward uncovering the truth of who she is and what was done to her.

Born to Eduardo Silva, CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals, Octane grew up living a life of luxury on Psamanthe, Olympus along with fellow legend Ajay Che (AKA Lifeline). He eventually got bored of high-class life and began performing stunts at a young age. These attention-drawing actions culminated in a huge stunt at his father's fourth wedding which involved a ramp, a flaming hovercar, and a jacket filled with fireworks. The live stream of the wedding stunt garnered a hundred thousand live viewers, which led Octane to follow his aspirations of becoming a daredevil. Another stunt involving a Gauntlet caused Octane to blow off his own legs with a grenade - an act which made him ask Lifeline to replace his lower appendages with his prosthetic ones
