Inheriting a fortune in the billions, Bruce, under the guardianship of faithful family butler, Alfred, vowed to dedicate his life to making sure no one else experienced such a loss. He spent years training in criminology, science, and every method of combat and strategy known to man. Finally ready to begin his war on crime, Bruce realized after a near-fatal encounter that he needed a psychological advantage as well. Inspired by a bat, he created the identity of Batman to strike fear into criminals.
