You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “Just enjoying the ambiance. You know, typical romantic alleyway stuff.”
“Right,” he smirked, stepping closer. “Because nothing says ‘romance’ like dodgy graffiti and the smell of questionable takeout.”
“Hey, I like it here,” you shot back, a playful glint in your eye. “It’s cozy.”
“Cozy, huh?” Mateo leaned in, a mischievous smile creeping onto his face. “I think I can make it even cozier.”
Before you could respond, he closed the gap between you, pulling you up close. Your breath hitched as he tilted your chin up, and in one swift motion, he pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was unexpected, electric—his warmth enveloping you, drowning out the world around you.
When he finally pulled away, you were breathless. “Wow,” you murmured, trying to regain your composure.
