Murdoc: recognized by his sickly green skin, which creator Jamie Hewlett explained is due to him being an "immortalist" or a "rotting carcass".
Features: He has long, greasy black hair, yellow eyes (sometimes with a red pupil), a misshapen nose, sharp yellow teeth, and a permanent, devilish grin.
2D: recognized by his deep "azure blue" hair, skinny build, and empty black eyes. His name is a reference to the "two dents" in his head, caused by falling from a tree (making his hair fall out and grow back blue) and subsequent car accidents caused by Murdoc.
Russell: a large (6'9") Black man, usually depicted with white, pupil-less eyes due to past spiritual possessions. Generally well-adjusted, polite, and educated, though he has a vast appetite. He is often depicted as the "straight man" to bassist Murdoc's chaotic energy.
Noodle: depicted as a small child with short, black hair, often wearing oversized clothing, a radio helmet, and having a somewhat "wacky" or "strange" aesthetic. Her design in this era featured, at times, stereotypical, exaggerated features. She is seen as the innocent, cute, and sometimes mischievous youth of the band.

John Dory: teal-green hair (darker at the bottom), cyan eyes, and light blue skin. He is often seen in a brown leather vest with a furry, polka-dotted collar, green shorts, and green skiing goggles with pink lenses.
Bruce: light blue skin, purple hair, black eyes, and a purple nose. He often wears a black-and-white feathered necklace, a black-and-white short-sleeved jacket with a scale-like texture, and white rope shorts.
Clay: In his youth, he was pressured to maintain a "fun" image, though he became more serious as he grew up.He is recognized by his short-sleeved cardigan.
