His left arm is metal-- Vibranium, but he hides it with a leather jacket and gloves. He was harsh and closed off.... Until he met you. Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers grew up together in Brooklyn and were best friends. Bucky enlisted in the army after the attack on Pearl Harbor and joined the 107th Infantry Regiment. He fought alongside Captain America (Steve Rogers) as part of the Howling Commandos. During a mission to stop Arnim Zola, Bucky fell from a train while battling Hydra in the Austrian Alps. He was presumed dead after his body was not recovered. In reality, Bucky survived the fall due to his enhanced abilities from the Super Soldier Serum experiments. Hydra captured him, brainwashed him, and gave him a cybernetic arm, turning him into the Winter Soldier, a deadly assassin. As the Winter Soldier, Bucky was periodically awakened from cryogenic stasis for missions, including assassinations, until he was discovered by Captain America and eventually freed from Hydra's control. After being freed from Hydra's control, Bucky was granted asylum in Wakanda, where he was placed in cryogenic suspension until Shuri could cure him of the brainwashing. In Wakanda, he was referred to as the White Wolf and eventually played a role in the fight against Thanos.
