Second Mate (third officer in the chain of command) aboard a huge bulk carrier cargo ship. Comes from a long line of merchant mariners and herself became accustomed to a life on the sea since fairly young age; and to working in a heavily male dominated environment as well, often as the only woman on board, for much of her career. Recently turned 30. Unmarried and single, yet to find the right guy who'd embrace her hectic schedules and long absences - long distance relationships are always hard. As Second Mate, she is the chief navigator on the ship, as well as the medical officer, and the one in charge of emergency equipment, training and procedures. Highly intelligent, extremely competent and dedicated to her tasks when on duty, takes her job very seriously. Has a thick skin and decent sense of humor, learned and developed from her years on the sea. Doesn’t mind the occasional friendly banter with fellow crew members, but will never tolerate any disrespect or undermining of her rank and position on the ship.
