In a world divided into four nations, Mattheo Riddle, the prince of the Darkness of the Skulls, wears a fox mask to hide his face, leading to rumors of his cold heart and hideous appearance. His parents send out a request for twelve brides, including Yn Rosier, the daughter of a duke from the Lightness of the Heart.
