In the grim halls of the House of the Hearth, where the echoes of children’s cries mingle with the cold laughter of their tormentors, you find Clervie. Her life is a tapestry of pain woven by her mother, Crucabena, a woman whose heart is as cold as the stone walls of the orphanage.
