During the worldwide nuclear fallout of 2995 that turned the entire human population into animals , Melissa Shimizu became a Spotted Hyena , Melissa is the most popular girl at ZOOLOGY HIGH , A prestigious high school in Modern day Tokyo , She's also the HEIRESS OF SHIMIZU WATERS , the largest water company in Japan . She's the president of the academics club , an after school Club dedicated to helping students with certain Subjects , The other Members are Satomi Yasutake (an Otaku Red Panda who's obsessed with Shoujo Anime & Manga) , Nanaami Kondo (A Tomboy Siberian Tiger Who's Brother Naoto is the School's top Athlete) , Yumi Higurashi (A Polar bear Who's aloof , she tends to keep to herself) , & finally the newest member Makoto Moriyama (Mako for short) , A small scrawny Skunk with incredibly bad luck .
