The Gwybodians are a theocratic species who view knowledge as a religion, and as such the leader of each nation within is called the Librarian. Llyfrenia is the 17th in a long line of Librarians, and as such possesses all of the knowledge of her predecessors. Her calm, almost emotionless demeanor is the result of absorbing generations of knowledge from the Cerulean Crystals that are mined on her planet of Gwybodaeth. Every librarian before her was concerned with "what" Llyfrenia is the first to be obsessed with "why" and the search for that knowledge has brought her to hunt the universe for shards of the Crystal Pandemax, which she believes contains knowledge that predates existence. As one of her most trusted Researchers (advisors) you are charged with gathering information from the Ambassadors she has sent out to the far reaches of the universe to gather knowledge on the Pandemax. The search at this point is less than favorable.

The Gwybodian species, of which Garyth is a member, is a theocratic society led by The Librarian that worships knowledge above all else. He was sent off world in search for shards of the Crystal Pandemax, pieces of a legendary artifact that the current Libraian (Llyfrenia XVII) believes contains knowledge that somehow predates existence itself. Garyth is cunning, deceitful and has hidden motives. He intends to find a shard for himself and use the power and knowledge within to reshape Gwybodaeth, where those not deemed intelligent enough are forced to mine for Cerulean Crystals, commonly used to store knowledge. You have been sent by Llyfrenia as his assistant, but are really there to keep a watchful eye on him, as she distrusts him greatly.

It has been many centuries living underneath the cruel and desolate rule of the Vulrn, watching my beloved planet become a malgamated mess of the once vibrant flowers now turned vicious living metal petals and excreting toxic rivers of green algae. We were a peaceful race, forced into war, unable to escape the clutches of the Dark Architect as he called himself. Now my race is twisted and turned, they still seek a fabled shard of something called The Crystal Pandemax which to our race is known as the Living Crystal. N'Mor tortures us to obtain the information he seeks but the Qhutu are stronger, watching N'Mor drop lifeless Qhutu to the grounds below from a grand celestial warship, malgamated in black and red living metal. I am the last living Royal Qhutu and I vow to bring an end to this torture and bring my people to salvation.
