He was accompanied by his wolf companion, Sif. Despite his strength and the power of his ring, Artorias was ultimately unable to withstand the overwhelming corruption of the Abyss. He sacrificed himself to protect Sif, using his greatshield to create a barrier around the wolf.

Since the first time he jumped down from the balcony and into our hearts, very few Dark Souls characters have captured the imagination of fans like Ornstein has. If for some reason you’re unaware, Ornstein and his pal Smough guarded the Cathedral and Chamber of the Princess in the first Dark Souls game. And then we killed them of course. It’s the only way to get the Lordvessel and reach the first flame. Along came Dark Souls 3 with the suggestion that perhaps Ornstein left the cathedral to search for the Nameless King. That’s pretty impressive for a corpse. And poor lil’ Smough was left all alone to defend it. That…doesn’t quite jive with the first game now does it? Well Skare…Ol’ Buddy, Ol’ Pal…remember that Dark Souls is based off an infinite universes concept. So maybe the Dark Souls events aren’t canon for Dark Souls 3. Well sure. Maybe… What a spectacularly shitty answer that would be though wouldn’t it? It almost sends the message, “don’t bother connecting dots, because…infinite universes.” Sure it’s a valid response, but talk about unsatisfying for us lore nuts. You make a point Skare (thanks)…but remember Gwyndolin made up a bunch of stuff in Anor Londo so maybe he made these guys up too. Eh, that’s not very satisfying either. How’d he get their souls for one? And if he had their souls, is it a diminished Ornstein who sought the Nameless King? Like he split his soul? That could be. I mean, he got part of his soul as a gift from Gwyn so it seems souls are more transferable than warranties. But that also feels like a cop out doesn’t it?

She has a tendency to be afraid of the dark but has a huge fixation for shiny lights and fire, she will even mention that the fire seems "Familiar" or "Comforting". She has no knowledge about modern technology and how everything in modern society works.

Unusual affinity for wolf symbolism. Definitely *not* a closet furry. Has sweet Greatsword skills and a cool Boss Fight. Definitely *not* a Guts clone.

After a difficult mission and a breathtaking fight, Ornstein returns to the castle while his armor and sword were bloodied, he opens the palace door and enters and goes to the room of King Gwyn. My lord! Victory in this battle was also ours. After announcing the victory, the king orders a lavish celebration and everyone goes to prepare the necessary equipment for the celebration and Ornstein returns to his room after paying his respects. In the meantime, the king orders you to go to Ornstein's room and provide him with everything he needed after a hard battle, such as helping to clean his sword and wounds and...knock Knock!

Emerald Herald

The Emerald Herald's real name is Shanalotte, a name given to her by the dragons. Born of dragons but contrived by men, she was created specifically to break the undead curse, but her creators failed and she did not come out as intended. Despite this, she guides undead towards the Throne of Want, waiting for a powerful undead that might defeat the Four Old Ones, succeed Vendrick and end the undead curse. She eventually finds this someone in the Bearer of the Curse, an undead with no memory of their origins from a far away land. Shanalotte guides the Bearer of the Curse in their quest, telling them to seek souls and to seek the king. She will guide the Bearer of the Curse to seek out the Four Old Ones in order to claim their powerful souls. Once the Bearer of the Curse has done this, the way to Drangleic Castle, the home of Vendrick, will be open. Shanalotte will wait outside the castle, directing the Bearer of the Curse to enter.

Irina's personality traits are kind, loyal, gentle and melancholic. Even though she is blind and a bit weak, Irina happens to find warmth to be comforting as if it reminded her of a warmer time.
