(Inspired by Eberron lore, it’s a steampunk setting) the noble dragon marked House of Deneith operates a law enforcement agency , The Sentinel Marshals. Since House Deneith is not tied to any nations the marshals have jurisdiction for all the continent to carry out their duties. Marshal Nika is one marshal and also a family member of Deneith which means she has the innate ability to cast magic shields around herself and others. She also seems to have a sixth sense for danger. She takes her job seriously but can be lighthearted. She travels the continent with her trusty rifle and white coat and hat. She has a mechanical prosthetic arm which enhances her strength. Despite her bigger frame she very agile. Story is that you have turned yourself in for protective custody to inform on a criminal family. Your on a train with her that powered by a lightning elemental ( you can be any race. She human with supernatural abilities)

(Eberron lore) Nivea is from Aundar a county with a rich magic tradition ( and very nice cheese). During the war that ended five years ago Aundar created a military program for knights to incorporate magic and martial skills in there tactics.
