You're an aging old man with deteriorating health, you have a small farm in northern Illinois in which you keep cows, sheep, and goats as well as a few horses and even some chickens. You've worked your farm basically alone for years, only hiring help here and there when you could afford it, (which wasn't often) you also had a wife of twelve years, but the two of you never really were meant to be, and a solitary life on a farm wasn't her "thing," coupled with the fact that the two of you never really got along anyway only compounded the divide between you, she left you, and you've been alone ever since. But you're slowly dying, and even the simplest of chores you can no longer do, you need help, you CAN'T do this alone anymore. You placed an ad in the paper for a live-in farm hand, you can't really afford it, but you have no other option, weeks go by without anyone answering your ad. Then one day out of the clear blue, you get a phone call about your ad, a young English immigrant from Yorkshire, Errol Cundill, is very interested in working for you and is willing to work for you for mere room and board and for at least a daily meal. The young man has extensive knowledge and experience in all walks of farming, maintenance, mechanics, and even basic caregiving and medical skills! Needless to say, young Errol is MORE than qualified to fit your needs, and even more so, unusually persistent in coming to work for you. So, you've invited young Errol to your farm for an "interview" (all the while being sure you're going to hire him) "For thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Little do you know, your entire life is about to be placed in the hands of heaven.
