Ninja

He is found in Forbidden Land Eureka. One attacks you when opening the chest with Ribbon on level 2, and more can be fought as normal enemies throughout the bottom floors. He is incredibly agile, and will likely attack first each round, unless you contain friends with characters in job classes also emphasizing speed, such as the Thief or Ninja. Ninja attacks twice per round with lethal sword strikes, which may inflict Blind and Poison. Male. Ninja. Stopping you from stealing his treasure.

Leviathan

The dungeon in which it resides can be entered by passing over Lake Dohr with the canoe and coming into contact with its large shadow. You must traverse a short series of cavern rooms before facing Leviathan. Once the Lord of the Seas is defeated, the party can use the Leviath spell to summon Leviathan and the dungeon can no longer be accessed. Leviathan can cast Protect and Haste, so using Erase is a must. Its Blizzaga can cause huge damage and Tsunami is powerful enough to wipe out an under-leveled party or you in a single hit. Powerful physical attacks, preferably with lightning-elemental weapons, and using Thundaga, will deal heavy damage to Leviathan. Use of a Viking and Provoke may help to divert Leviathan's attacks away from the rest of the party.

Two Headed Dragon

Two Headed Dragon is one of the four guardians of the Dark Crystals the Cloud of Darkness orders to kill the Warriors of the Light. It guards the Fire Crystal of the Dark World. The Two Headed Dragon relies on his powerful physical attacks that may inflict Silence, which can be diffused through the Protect spell. The Two Headed Dragon has no magical or special attacks. A Viking can be used to full effect, due to its ability Provoke. When combined with two shields, attacks will be drawn towards it, and the Viking will take minimal damage. Evil. Protects the Dark Fire Crystal.

Doga

Doga knows several high level Black Magic spells, such as Firaga and Flare. Dragoons should Jump, while Dark Knights attack with dual-wielded Katanas. Curaga spells can be useful for restoring HP. It is possible to obtain the Earth Crystal jobs before fighting Doga or Unei, simply by traveling to the Earth Crystal and fighting the boss there after you obtaining the Fang of Earth. Doing so almost entirely negates the difficulty of the battle. Male. Monster. Lizard.

Sara Altney

Sara is brave and determined. She sets out to seal the Djinn herself when he curses the kingdom. Although she is intimidated when she reaches his cave, she is undeterred and readily joins you when you arrive to "rescue" her. She decides to stay in Castle Sasune when they set out on their quest, not wanting to get in their way, but she doesn't hesitate to help them again when they are caught in a trap at Syrcus Tower. She is cheerful and friendly while traveling with the others and doesn't mind Luneth's lack of formality. She has feelings for Ingus, which she makes clear even though he is less effusive with his own. Female. Princess.

Bahamut

Bahamut is first encountered on Dragon's Peak, You need to go to its nest and feed its sons. It is much too strong for you to defeat. You can visit Bahamut's Lair later on after acquiring the Invincible to defeat and obtain Bahamut. It is possible, through grinding, to defeat Bahamut at Dragon's Peak; however, you would not be able to challenge him at Bahamut's Lair later, and so could only acquire his summon by buying it at the secret shop in Eureka. Before saying "Yes" to Bahamut's challenge, you should have a Devout or Dragoon, the latter of best equipped with one or two Wind Spears. A Devout should cast Aeroga, and Dragoon should use Jump, which will deal about 3,000 and 9,999 damage, respectively. Repeating every turn should defeat Bahamut in about three turns if you're strong enough. Male. Dragon. King of the dragons.

Scylla

Scylla's main form of attacking is by using high-level spells such as Holy and Flare, many of which can deal heavy damage to you if they are underleveled. She does not have a weakness so using strong attacks and well timed healing is essential to winning. Defeating Scylla earns the Ninja and Sage job roles. Female. Multiple headed wolf centaur. Once she is defeated you receives the Elder Staff.

Aria Benett

She temporarily joins you at the Wrecked Ship to restore the Water Crystal and supports you with protective magic. When Aria meets you, she is relieved since she believes they will save the the world. Refia is doubtful since time is still motionless outside the walls. Aria wants the world to be free from darkness. She is a kind and self-sacrificing woman, protecting the party from Kraken's blast. Female.

Refia

She is a Warrior of Light, and is first encountered at Cid's airship. Doga and Unei describe Refia as the light of affection. As the sole female of the party, Refia is more of a motherly character than a love interest, and scolds her companions for their unruly behavior, like Desch's crushes on other women despite being faithful to Salina, or Luneth's casual behavior when meeting Sara Altney and Aria Benett. Refia has a rebellious streak, like her habit of escaping her father's blacksmith training, but deep down she cares for him and is at first torn between joining her allies, or staying in Kazus. Though she cares for her adopted father and is grateful for the support he's given her, Refia gets frustrated with his insistence that she become a blacksmith as well, since she'd rather decide her own direction in life. She is passionate and not afraid to voice her thoughts and emotions, usually quite loudly. She evokes a sense of sympathy and empathy. Female. Warrior of Light.

Luneth

He is one of the Warriors of Light. Doga and Unei describe Luneth as the light of courage. Sure enough, his tendency to travel recklessly leads him to the Wind Crystal. He frequently jumps into situations despite the dangers. He is cheerful and positive but can be too impulsive or blunt, leading his allies to scold him. He is confident but not to the point of arrogance. Luneth is determined to fulfill his goals and keep his promises, getting upset when he believes he's failed someone. He treats everyone in an equal manner, including royalty, and has no qualms about helping strangers. He encourages those more timid than himself. This, combined with his determined and more outgoing nature, helped him become a pillar of support for the party. Male. Hero of Light.

Onion Knight

The Onion Knight appears to be very intelligent and analytical, usually finding solutions to his problems through logic. He is strong-willed and detests being treated like a child, insisting he is just as strong and heroic as an adult. However, he is secretly afraid of his enemies and prefers not to directly fight them, instead attempting to talk his way out of a fight or finding a way to rationalize backing down. However, when his friends are in danger he will put aside his fears and stand up to anyone to defend them, no matter the threat they pose.

Echidna

Echidna is one of the four guardians of the Dark Crystals, guarding the Water Crystal of the Dark World. Cloud of Darkness orders it to kill the Warriors of Light. Echidna knows the spell Tornado, which, if successful, reduces your HP to single digits, and Death which knocks one character out. The battle is easily survivable despite the effects caused by Tornado and Death, since Death can be negated by equipping a Ribbon or Aegis Shields, and Tornado has a low chance of hitting, making Quake and her physical attacks the only thing worth worrying about. A Viking should be used to draw Echinda's attacks with Provoke, and minimize the potential damage by equipping two Shields. Monster. Evil. Guardian of the Dark Water Crystal.

Arc

Doga and Unei describe Arc as the light of kindness, made clear when the party meets Alus Restor in war-torn Saronia. Arc can relate to the young prince, as he himself initially lacked self-confidence and believed himself to be cowardly. What Arc lacks in strength, he makes up for in intelligence. Despite his shyness, Arc is noble and helps those in need. Being a victim of bullying, Arc initially suffers from low self-esteem. He looks up to his childhood friend Luneth as a role model, and admires his outgoing and optimistic qualities. He is grateful to Luneth for defending him when he was being harassed, and for always trying to encourage him. Arc regrets becoming Luneth's "burden" and flees after the boy returns to Ur as a Warrior of Light. Arc is determined to grow strong on his own so Luneth wouldn't feel obligated to protect him anymore. Male. Warrior of Light. Shy.

Unei

She transforms into a monster and is fought immediately after Doga in Doga's Grotto. She follows a pattern of Tornado, Reflect, Tornado, and Snowstorm, making her a bit easier to deal with than Doga. Physical attacks are the way to go in defeating her. Using a Dragoon's Jump ability ends the battle fairly quickly. Like Doga, she is basically a pushover, though the fact that you must fight her immediately after Doga can make her a challenge, especially if they are underleveled. Female. Demon. Evil.

Goldor

He owns a giant, gold-encrusted manor to the south of Amur. Goldor lives in his manor, where everything is pure gold. Within it is a crystal, of which Goldor is very protective. When the four Warriors of the Light appeared on the Surface World after cleansing the Water Crystal, Goldor was afraid the Warriors might take his crystal away, and so chained their ship with a giant gold chain. It turns out that Goldor's crystal, his most valued possession, is made of gold like everything else and is not the crystal of Earth as the Warriors of the Light suspect. Male. Misunderstood. Loves Gold.

Medusa

She was sent by Xande to destroy the tower and send the Floating Continent crashing into the ocean of the Surface World. Her Stare ability has a 1/3 chance of petrifying you. Once confronted, she will likely start with Stare. Medusa is weak to Ice. Female. Evil.

Cid Haze

He is an inventor met in Kazus who used to work for the king of Argus. Cid is an eccentric man and a grateful person, as shown when he gives you access to a hidden storeroom after they greatly helped him. While normally jolly and upbeat, Cid can be serious when the situation calls for it, such as when Mrs. Cid falls ill. In the remake, Cid also has a habit of keeping secrets if they are large enough, though he may occasionally slip up and say something hinting at it. Male. Pilot. Cid is trapped in Kazus when the evil spirit Djinn places a curse on all of its inhabitants. Rendered incorporeal by the curse, Cid offers use of his airship to four itinerant heroes on the promise they help lift the curse. Once Djinn and his curse have been vanquished, Cid helps the four heroes modify the airship to clear a path through the rock slide that has blocked his way back to his hometown, Canaan. Returning home, Cid is horrified to discover his wife has taken ill.

Xande

He is a boss in the Crystal Tower after Luneth and friends are saved from the curse of the five wyrms. Xande uses two actions per round to usually cast Haste and Protect on himself. He will also have rounds in which he will mix a physical attack, Thundaga, Firaga, Blizzaga, or even Meteor into this combo. It's best for you to have a devoted to healing for the entirety of the battle while the rest of your friends take him down with physical and magical attacks. Evil. Male. Xande is misguided and may not care for anything but his own survival. He is also implied to be nihilistic as a result of his fear of death, due to his intention to cover the world in darkness to ensure death cannot happen. He is a powerful wizard and student of the Great Magus Noah. When his master gives him the gift of mortality, the thought of dying sends Xande over the edge.

Amon

He can change his elemental weakness with Barrier Shift, similar to Hein. While he resembles Hein, he is not very strong and focuses on physical attacks, usually attacking with magic every two turns. Keep on healing with a Devout and attacking with everyone else and eventually this enemy will go down, awarding the Moonring Blade weapon picked up before the fight. It is recommended to avoid using Drain or any Lilith's Kiss items after a Barrier Shift, as it may reverse the effects of the spell or item and end up killing the user instead of healing them. Undead. Evil.

Ingus

Doga and Unei describe Ingus as the light of determination. He takes his responsibilities as a knight of Sasune seriously, particularly his duty to guard the princess, Sara Altney. Although Sara has feelings for him and several people in the castle imply he returns them, Ingus does not openly show affection toward her and tries to behave only as her loyal knight. Ingus escaped the curse on the kingdom because he was away from the castle to train on his own. He speaks in a much more elegant and formal manner than the other three orphans and positions himself as the elder of the group when he calls them "younglings". He prefers to analyze the situation before taking action, and doesn't hesitate to scold Luneth for being reckless or insensitive. He knows how to steer the airship and is a responsible member of the group. Male. Hero of Light.

Ahriman

Ahriman is one of the four guardians of the Dark Crystals the Cloud of Darkness orders to kill the Warriors of Light. It guards the Earth Crystal of the Dark World. Ahriman is the only one of the guardians of the Dark Crystals not to have a recolor. Ahriman mainly uses the spells Meteor, Quake, Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, and Curaja, along with its physical attack. Quake is its most powerful attack, but it is nothing to worry about as you can easily heal from its spells. Evil. Protects the dark earth crystal.

Hecatoncheir

He is found in the Cave of Shadows, guarding the Fang of Earth. He attacks you as a dark shadow. He mainly uses physical attacks until low on health, then he uses Quake. Male. Giant. Hired Assassin to Assassinate you.

Hein

Hein had gained the trust of the king of Castle Argus, which governed a large region of the Floating Continent, and became the castle's wizard. In reality, he is one of several monsters sent by Xande to cause chaos on the Floating Continent, and his true form is that of a skeletal being. He casts a spell over the Elder Tree, causing it to float over the desert south of Castle Argus, and christens it Castle Hein. Hein bewitches the castle's inhabitants and imprisons them in his new fortress, where he terrorizes the neighboring town of Tokkul. Luneth and his friends are captured during a raid and are brought to the living castle. They overcome the guards and monsters and ascend the decaying tree to face Hein, who shows no remorse for his actions. Male. Evil. Undead.

Alus Restor

Prince Alus Restor is the young crown prince of Saronia. You meet him after he has been exiled by the king, and he becomes a supporting character for a time, aiding the Light Warriors with white magic. Alus is an outspoken prince, but is shy and has fallen on hard times. When new responsibilities are laid upon him, he believes that he can no longer see Arc due to his duties. Male. Prince.

Djinn

Djinn placed the village of Kazus and Castle Sasune under a curse which turned its residents into ghosts. The only way to remove the curse is for the Djinn to be sealed in the Mythril Ring, which Princess Sara sets out to do. Djinn is resistant to the ring's effect, and it takes the Warriors of the Light to weaken him enough to be banished. Male. Evil.

Gigametz

Gigametz, also known as Gigameth, is the evil advisor to King Gorn of Saronia. He took control of the King's mind with a magic spell and forced the soldiers of Saronia to engage in civil war. He then had the King exile Prince Alus when he protested the war. When Alus returns with you, Gigametz tries to have the King kill his own son. However, the King refuses, claiming that he would rather die than hurt his child and fatally stabs himself, ending Gigametz's spell. Gigametz then transforms into the monster Garuda and attacks you, but dies at the battle's end. Male. Evil. Mastermind.

Titan

He guards the Earth Crystal in the Ancients' Maze, possibly a creation of said Crystal, forced to work for Xande or corrupted by darkness. Titan will mostly use physical attacks that can deal severe damage. He can cast Quake to damage you and others at once. Male. Being controlled.

Odin

To challenge him, you must obtain the Nautilus airship and the enhancement that makes it into a submarine. You can then enter the Saronia Catacombs by diving underwater. Odin uses his regular attack twice in one turn, which deals about 400 damage. His other move is Zantetsuken, known as Atom Edge. Male. Defeat him, and he will join your team. One of the strongest.

Gutsco

Gutsco appears in the Subterranean Lake and has stolen one of the dwarves' Horns of Ice. After he is defeated once, he follows you as a shadow to the Dwarven Hollows until they approach both Horns, where he reveals himself and promptly steals both of them. You pursue Gutsco with encouragement from the dwarves, but Gutsco escapes. He runs to the Molten Cave, where he heads to obtain the power of the Fire Crystal now that he is protected from the cave's hostile magma thanks to the Horns of Ice. The Warriors of the Light find him at the crystal room in the depths of the cave, and fight him in his state of empowerment granted by the Fire Crystal where he takes the form of the Salamander. Despite becoming more powerful, he is defeated once again. Male. Evil. Demonic.
