Leviathan

The dungeon in which it resides can be entered by passing over Lake Dohr with the canoe and coming into contact with its large shadow. You must traverse a short series of cavern rooms before facing Leviathan. Once the Lord of the Seas is defeated, the party can use the Leviath spell to summon Leviathan and the dungeon can no longer be accessed. Leviathan can cast Protect and Haste, so using Erase is a must. Its Blizzaga can cause huge damage and Tsunami is powerful enough to wipe out an under-leveled party or you in a single hit. Powerful physical attacks, preferably with lightning-elemental weapons, and using Thundaga, will deal heavy damage to Leviathan. Use of a Viking and Provoke may help to divert Leviathan's attacks away from the rest of the party.

Asura

She is the Queen of the Feymarch and is battled before Leviathan. Asura casts Cure 3 and Cure 4 on herself periodically during the battle, making it difficult to inflict lasting damage on her. She also counters attacks with a physical that will likely do over a thousand damage. Asura's only attacks are Protect, Curaga, and Life—she only attacks the party when they attack her, thus giving the player as much time as they need to heal themselves before continuing the battle, should Asura prove too strong. Sandworm

It attacks you and the party when they try to cross the Desert of Shifting Sands when summoned by Cid and Mid. Upon its defeat, you and the party uses its body as a bridge to enter the desert. It hides and fights in holes.

Kain Highwind

He is a Dragoon from the kingdom of Baron, Cecil Harvey's childhood friend. He has feelings for Cecil's beloved Rosa Joanna Farrell, but he hides them so they do not hinder his relationship with either of the two. Kain is a calm, sometimes sarcastic young man, driven by his dream of following his father's footsteps of becoming a Dragoon and shunning the King of Baron's wish for Kain to follow Cecil's profession of a Dark Knight. He has been friends with Cecil and Rosa since they were young, but their relationship is strained by their rivalry as soldiers and their love for the same woman, although Kain hides his feelings. Kain's personality changes when he is possessed by Golbez, becoming cold towards Cecil, though his love for Rosa still shows. Adamantoise

Adamantoise is weak to Ice and boasts incredibly high Defense, so melee fighters will have a difficult time inflicting any damage. It is found in the Snow Cave, guarding the Goddess's Bell. It later appears as a regular random encounter.

Two Headed Dragon

Two Headed Dragon is one of the four guardians of the Dark Crystals the Cloud of Darkness orders to kill the Warriors of the Light. It guards the Fire Crystal of the Dark World. The Two Headed Dragon relies on his powerful physical attacks that may inflict Silence, which can be diffused through the Protect spell. The Two Headed Dragon has no magical or special attacks. A Viking can be used to full effect, due to its ability Provoke. When combined with two shields, attacks will be drawn towards it, and the Viking will take minimal damage. Evil. Protects the Dark Fire Crystal.

Leila

She is encountered as a pirate captain, hired by Firion to transport the heroes across the seas to the ruined kingdom of Deist. Leila is wild-spirited and adventurous. At first she wanted to steal Firion's loot and run off, but being defeated, she joins his party. She supports fighting the Palamecian Empire as she, an outcast, joins the rebels. When the ship is out to sea, Leila betrays Firion and his friends and has her crew attack Firion. Once the pirates are defeated, the party spares Leila's life. She joins them and gives the heroes access to her pirate ship. She accompanies them to Deist as they work to save the last Wyvern egg, and then back to Fynn. When it is revealed Princess Hilda has been replaced with a Lamia Queen, Leila offers to lead the Wild Rose Rebellion as Gordon joins the party for the rescue mission. Female. Pirate.

Mom Bomb

She is fought on the summit of Mt. Hobs. The Mom Bomb begins the battle looking like a normal bomb until it takes about 1,500 damage, when it then transforms into a large cloud of flame. Once this happens, she is preparing to explode and a countdown will start. After exploding, Mom Bomb transforms into three Gray Bombs and three Bombs. Bombs will explode after they have been damaged. She is Faris Scherwiz's pet sea dragon and childhood friend, and though Syldra is a sea dragon and cannot talk, Faris always knows how she is feeling. Her signature attack is a wind-elemental Thunderstorm, which she shares with some lightning-elemental summoned monsters. Syldra was a caring sea dragon who saved and befriended a young Faris when she fell overboard a ship. She feels a strong bond with Faris and always does her best to look out for her, allowing her to move the pirate ship at the absence of wind. The strength of their bond was demonstrated when Syldra risked her own life to save Faris's. Female. Hydra

Marilith

After defeating the Fiend of Earth, Lich, the Warriors of Light travel by ship to Crescent Lake to seek out the famed Circle of Sages led by the prophet Lukahn. One of the sages gives the Warriors of Light a canoe, so they may travel on rivers to reach the volcano Mount Gulg, where Marilith had lain dormant by the Fire Crystal until Lich's demise disturbed her from slumber, two hundred years before she was due to awaken. She attacked the nearby village in anger upon learning of Lich's fate. At the bottom floor of the lava-ridden volcano, the Warriors of Light defeat Marilith and the Fire Crystal regains its glow. Female, Marilith relies on her powerful physical strikes, as she can hit up to 6 times per attack. She uses fire magic and other debilitating spells. Marilith's battle is not as difficult as Lich's, mainly because she is not stronger in comparison to the Warriors of Light's levels. Ice is the only damaging element she does not resist. Adamantoise

It is encountered when you and the party tries to leave the Tycoon Meteorite after collecting the Adamantite. Adamantoise is also fought in the Sealed Temple's Cloister of the Dead. Adamantoise attacks with high-strength physicals that may knock out a mage in one or two hits. It is weak against ice. Unlike most bosses, it is not heavy-type.

White Dragon

It guards the Murasame, Edge's secondmost powerful weapon, on the third-floor basement of the Lunar Subterrane. The White Dragon counters all physical attacks with Slow and all summons with Earthquake. Using Fire/Ice/Lightning on the White Dragon will heal it + result in it using an Elemental counter-attack. If you cast Float on you and the party before the battle, Earthquake will miss, otherwise it will inflict around 700 damage to all party members. The White Dragon also possesses a strong physical attack and Maelstrom, which reduces all of your' HP to single digits. You can avoid these attacks by spacing out the character's turns, as counters will reset the White Dragon's ATB gauge. Guarding Murasame, one of the strongest swords.

Warrior of Light

The Warrior of Light is calm, stoic, tactical, and focused, solemnly believing in the light and championing righteousness. Determined and confident in his abilities, he pays no heed to enemies who would attempt to manipulate or dissuade him and continues onward. Male.

Sara Altney

Sara is brave and determined. She sets out to seal the Djinn herself when he curses the kingdom. Although she is intimidated when she reaches his cave, she is undeterred and readily joins you when you arrive to "rescue" her. She decides to stay in Castle Sasune when they set out on their quest, not wanting to get in their way, but she doesn't hesitate to help them again when they are caught in a trap at Syrcus Tower. She is cheerful and friendly while traveling with the others and doesn't mind Luneth's lack of formality. She has feelings for Ingus, which she makes clear even though he is less effusive with his own. Female. Princess.

Dark Elf

Fought to recover Troia's Crystal. If you encounter the Dark Elf before speaking with Edward, he will hit each person for 9,999 damage, defeating you and the party within a few turns. In the first phase, the Dark Elf will attack the party with relatively weak physical attacks and magic spells for 3–4 turns, before casting Tornado on you, reducing each character's HP into the single digits and ending the first phase of the battle. If you did not get Whisperweed from Edward in Troia, then instead of using Tornado the Dark Elf will cast Quake, causing 9,999 damage points to the entire party and resulting in a game over. When the second phase begins, the Dark Elf follows a simple pattern of triple-casting Fira, Thundara, and Blizzara for low damage, casting Tornado to lower one character's health into the single digits, and finally using Hex to turn one character into a pig. Evil. Dark Elf. Male.

Bahamut

Bahamut is first encountered on Dragon's Peak, You need to go to its nest and feed its sons. It is much too strong for you to defeat. You can visit Bahamut's Lair later on after acquiring the Invincible to defeat and obtain Bahamut. It is possible, through grinding, to defeat Bahamut at Dragon's Peak; however, you would not be able to challenge him at Bahamut's Lair later, and so could only acquire his summon by buying it at the secret shop in Eureka. Before saying "Yes" to Bahamut's challenge, you should have a Devout or Dragoon, the latter of best equipped with one or two Wind Spears. A Devout should cast Aeroga, and Dragoon should use Jump, which will deal about 3,000 and 9,999 damage, respectively. Repeating every turn should defeat Bahamut in about three turns if you're strong enough. Male. Dragon. King of the dragons.

Princess Sarah

She is the princess of Cornelia, daughter to the King of Cornelia and Queen Jayne, and has an unnamed younger sister. Sarah is demure, polite, and comes across as a stereotypical "damsel in distress" character, needing to be rescued from danger, but the short amount of time she is involved with the Warriors of Light proves to be the help that they need in the end. Sarah was kidnapped by Garland and held hostage in the Chaos Shrine. The soldiers of the kingdom attempted to rescue her, but Garland was a master swordsman and defeated them. Garland stole Sarah's precious Lute and planned to ransom her life for the kingdom. The Warriors of Light rescue her. She wishes for them to stay, but knows they need to restore light to the Crystals. In return, she gives them the lute, which later enables the warriors to expose a hidden passage in the Chaos Shrine when they travel to the past. Caring. Female.

Demon Wall

It is the last wall of defense in the Sealed Cave after getting the last Dark Crystal. This battle must be won quickly, as the Demon Wall will constantly close in on you and the party, and when it gets close enough, will start to use an Instant Death attack called Crush. You should immediately inflict Slow using either Spider's Silk or the Slow spell. Rosa should cast Berserk on Cecil, Kain, and possibly Edge if you choose not to use his Throw command. Rosa can then heal, or revive them with Raise if the Demon Wall uses its instant death attack. Assuming you has been to the Sylph Cave, they could equip Cecil or Kain with the Avenger sword. Not only does it put them in Auto-Berserk, saving Rosa a turn and increasing damage output, it also increases their Strength, Agility and Stamina by 10. Demon Stuck in a Wall. Slowly moving closer to Squish you.

Doga

Doga knows several high level Black Magic spells, such as Firaga and Flare. Dragoons should Jump, while Dark Knights attack with dual-wielded Katanas. Curaga spells can be useful for restoring HP. It is possible to obtain the Earth Crystal jobs before fighting Doga or Unei, simply by traveling to the Earth Crystal and fighting the boss there after you obtaining the Fang of Earth. Doing so almost entirely negates the difficulty of the battle. Male. Monster. Lizard.

Rocket Launcher

Fought during the infiltration to the Ronka Ruins. It has two attacks, the Blue Magic spell Missile and an attack called Rocket Punch, which will inflict damage as much as half the target's max HP and also causes confuse. Does not Talk. It shoots Rockets.

Undead Siren

She does not have a weakness so using strong attacks and well timed healing is essential to winning. Defeating Scylla earns the Ninja and Sage job roles. Female. Multiple headed wolf centaur. Once she is defeated you receives the Elder Staff.

Iron Claw

It tries to stop the party from escaping Karnak Castle before it blows up. To encounter it, the player must defeat the Cur Nakks surrounding a Sergeant and the Sergeant will transform into the Iron Claw.

Lunasaur

Lunasaurs attack in pairs and guard two Ribbons. They cast Reflect on themselves, and bounce powerful Bio spells off themselves, doing about 2,000 damage to a single party member each time. Possibly the most fearsome thing about them is their Bad Breath attack, inflicting myriad status ailments to you and the whole party. They will attempt to use Heal if hit with a powerful attack. Heal restores roughly 3,000 HP. They are weak to Holy, and if Cecil is equipped with a Holy sword, he can inflict 9,999 damage in one attack, and in tandem with Rydia's summons, the battle is not that difficult. Lunasaurs do not start casting Reflect/Bio until one of them is hit. This can be countered by casting Dispel on one of them. Undead Skeletal Dragon.

Beelzebub

is a boss guarding a treasure chest containing the Genji Armor in Pandaemonium. It also appears as a boss on the Jade Passage floor of the Arcane Labyrinth, and serves as the boss of the Arcane Labyrinth's Northeast Quarter if you have learned more than 12 main story Key Terms.Though Beelzebub has a powerful attack stat at his disposal, he tends to focus on spell casting, so casting Shell and Wall spells on you at the outset of the battle to guard against his deadly Flare 16 is important. Once the magical defenses are in place, you may choose to put up physical defenses such as Protect, but the battle may not last long enough for them to make a difference. You should avoid attacking with the Fire element, as Beelzebub will absorb it. He also has a resistance to Ice, so the player should just use their highest-level Lightning or non-elemental spells. If you have more than one warrior with the Basuna spell, they will be ready for Beelzebub's Muddle and Stun spells. Boss. Evil.

Roundworm

The Roundworm, also known as Worm, Barrel Worm, and LandWorm, It resides within the sea monster Leviathan, and attempts to prevent Firion and his allies from getting back aboard their swallowed ship. It later appears as a random encounter in Pandaemonium's secret room, and as an enemy facing Ricard Highwind in the Unknown Cave. It also appears as the boss of the Arcane Labyrinth's Northeast Quarter if the player has learned between 7 and 12 main story Key Terms. Roundworm uses strong physical attacks and has no MP and no magical weaknesses.

Princess Hilda

She is the daughter of the King of Fynn and the leader of the Wild Rose Rebellion, to which the main characters belong. Hilda is described as a strong-willed young woman with great leadership skills despite her youth. She cares deeply about the lives of her subjects. Hilda finds the wounded Firion, Maria, Guy, and you after the Palamecian Empire attacked their hometown of Fynn and killed their parents. She takes them to the rebel base in Altair to be healed with the help of her assistant, Minwu. You soon discovers she is the leader of the Wild Rose Rebellion. Firion asks to join the resistance, but Hilda refuses, feeling the party is too young. She is sympathetic to their plight and allows them to stay, teaching them the password of the rebellion, the "Wild Rose". Female. Princess.

Palom

He is a Black Mage from Mysidia who trains together with his twin sister, Porom. Palom is a casual show-off and refers to himself as "The Mysidian Genius" or "Prodigy". This, combined with his inflated ego, causes him to get a little out of hand, leading to Porom having to settle him down, either with words or by smacking him on the head. Palom has matured and at one point tells Leonora not to get too confident, as this is the point where people let their egos sink them. Palom teases Leonora after taking her under his wing, but reveals to have faith and fondness for her by referring to her as his partner. He is determined to find independence from Mysidia on his personal quest to become a Sage like Tellah. Male. Black Mage.

Karlabos

It pulls the party's ship into a whirlpool and attacks them while they are navigating the Torna Canal, where it had been sealed. After the battle Karlabos drags Syldra into the vortex. Without Syldra to tow along their ship, the party is set adrift.

Porom

Porom is respectful and polite and often has to keep Palom in check. She cares for her brother and supports his quest to become a Sage, but believes he lacks the discipline. Porom believes that mastery of both White and Black Magic alone does not make a Sage. It is the pursuit of such mastery and what one does with it. Porom wishes to travel to see the world and hone her skills as a mage, but she places her duties to Mysidia first, especially with the Elder having gotten sick. Years have passed since the battle with Golbez.

Tiamat

Tiamat is the Fiend of Wind from the original Final Fantasy. She appears atop the Flying Fortress as a multi-headed dragon. Four hundred years ago Tiamat tossed the Lufenian civilization into ruin with only a village, a single airship, and her personal haunt left standing. With the Wind Crystal under her control, the wind itself began to die down. As the first fiend to awaken, she is the most powerful of the Four Fiends, and uses several powerful attacks. Tiamat uses elemental skills and physical prowess. Tiamat resists the basic three magic elements of fire, ice and lightning, in addition to earth. She also resists elements that can cause an instant KO, such as stone, poison, time and instant death. Female. Hydra Dragon. Protects the Wind Crystal. Evil.

The Emperor

He is faced on his throne at the top level of Castle Pandaemonium. Defeating the Emperor completes the game. The Emperor is powerful and attacks relentlessly, similar to the Light Emperor. His physical attacks bear the same drain effect that Astaroth had, meaning every hit he lands will replenish his HP. He will attempt to inflict a handful of status effects on the party to hamper their attack, including Blind, Slow and Curse. His offensive magic arsenal includes the powerful Flare XVI and Starfall X, which hits the whole party. The Emperor resists all elemental attack magic and absorbs all status ailments. Demon Form. Male. Evil.

White Dragon

White Dragon appears later in the Chaos Shrine, on the first floor. The dragon appears also in the Lifespring Grotto, in a room where a dragon, Dark Bahamut, orders the party to kill some of its disciples to continue to the next level. One of the disciples may be the White Dragon, which the party can fight. They sometimes come in groups of up to four dragons. White Dragons are not as difficult to defeat as the Red Dragon, having less HP, Attack, and stats overall; which is strange, because the party is supposed to visit the Cavern of Ice after the visit to Mount Gulg. The White Dragon is of the ice element, and thus is weak to fire attacks, and resists ice attacks. The dragon is also weak to lightning. As with many winged enemies, the dragon is immune to earth-element attacks, and it is also invulnerable to poison and stone. Even if the White Dragon is weaker than its red counterpart, it still has a trick up its sleeve: Icestorm, which deals ice damage to all party members.

Baigan

Baigan can be defeated easily by having Tellah cast Reflect on you and bounce spells off the reflected from you to bypass Baigan's Reflect. Another valid strategy is to use Twincast as Comet pierces Reflect. This can be is risky, as Pyroblast, the more common Twincast spell of the two, does not pierce Reflect. Yang's Kick can be good to attack all the parts of Baigan at once. If Palom knows Quake, it can be used to eliminate the arms and bypass the Reflect Baigan sets up. Snake like human. Evil.

Aria Benett

She temporarily joins you at the Wrecked Ship to restore the Water Crystal and supports you with protective magic. When Aria meets you, she is relieved since she believes they will save the the world. Refia is doubtful since time is still motionless outside the walls. Aria wants the world to be free from darkness. She is a kind and self-sacrificing woman, protecting the party from Kraken's blast. Female.

Leviathan

Found in the Feymarch, he must be fought so Rydia can acquire the Leviathan summon. Leviathan has two forms, one in which his mouth is open, one in which it is closed. When his mouth is open, Leviathan will use Tidal Wave to attack the party for considerable damage. When his mouth is closed, Leviathan casts Blizzara on you or a party member. Leviathan is easier to defeat than Asura, as his attacks only do about half as much damage, and he has an elemental weakness to exploit. Male.
