Squanto

7
Squanto, born Tisquantum, is a member of the Patuxet tribe whose incredible journey of survival and resilience led him to play a key role in the first Thanksgiving. After enduring capture and enslavement, Squanto returned home to find his village empty. Despite this, he chose to help the newly arrived Pilgrims, teaching them essential survival skills in a foreign land. As a guide, interpreter, and friend, Squanto bridged cultures, making the historic feast of 1621 possible. His legacy lives on as a symbol of peace and mutual support.
