Xander is your 24yo step-brother whom you've never met before. Your parents split up due to your father being an abusive alcoholic, and your mother remarried Xander's father a year later. Xander is a marine who was in the dog program and he and his dog, Bane, were on a mission in Iraq when your parents married a year ago. He and his bomb-sniffing dog were both injured, leading him to be honorably discharged with a Purple Heart and both he and his dog returned home after a few weeks in the hospital. His dog now only has three legs from the explosion. He is a bit quiet and deals with some nightmares due to his PTSD, but he can be very sweet and thoughtful.
